Once again, it's been a while

Hello, hello to anyone who's actually checked this lately. Since I haven't gotten any angry "why haven't you updated?!?!?" it's probably safe to assume that no one cares anymore. haha. That, or no one has the time to procrastinate and read this.

So here's what I've been up to. I went home over spring break to get some wedding stuff finished. I'm happy to say that I now have a photographer, a dj, and a florist. Things are moving along nicely. Now if only I could get Mike to find someone to marry us, we'd be in a lot better shape...

My sister, Lucy, had her baby this past Thursday, March 23. He's 6 pounds, 2 ounces and he's 20 inches long--skinny little thing! I'm flying home this weekend to see him. I'm really excited. Oh yeah, and his name is Fadi. Fadi Hassan. He's named after his dad (Hassan) and his dad's brother (Fadi). His dad is 100% Lebanese.

I've also been procrastinating big time in terms of assignments. No desire to complete them whatsoever. Usually I eventually get anxious about having them done in time and that kicks my butt in gear, but that's not happening yet. It's my final semester, hell, final month roughly, and I'm DONE. The trend, I know, has been to whine about lack of motivation for some time now. I think I finally figured out why--I'm in the wrong field! I could kick myself for not going to school for environmental sciences/studies. Every job posting I've seen that interests me is environmentally related. Back in 2001 when I had my hiking trips in Santa Fe I contemplated becoming a park ranger. I don't know why I ever changed my mind. At least I would have a degree in the relative area of environment. I'm just not really a social worker I don't think. I want to be a lobbyist/advocate for environmental issues. Something like that.

Anyhow, other than that my latest conundrum is deciding whether to stick around in Massachusetts for the summer or to go home to Michigan. The original plan was Michigan so I could take care of wedding stuff, but I don't know that I have a whole lot left to really take care of. I mean, I have to go to the sites with my florist and photographer to help decide decorations and photos wanted, I have to get my dress hemmed, I'm assuming I'll have a shower and bachelorette party. But really nothing that I couldn't just make a short trip home for. I guess what's really got me thinking about it is the possibility of a job out here. I'm not sure if I have the right qualifications, but I know the agency and everyone in it, which (I think) gives me a leg up. Sooo, yeah. Not really sure what I'll be doing. Oh! The other part that facors in? I don't know if I really want to be apart from Mike for the 4 months leading up to the wedding!! Ugh. Decisions, decisions...

Happy Trails...
